Sketch: a house's school tax bill sends $590 a year to developer tax breaks; ending them sends $135 a year into a School Capital Reserve jar and $455 a year back into the homeowner's pocket. Mineola's jar holds $8.5 million; Rockville Centre's jar is empty. Fund the reserve. Cut the bill. End the developer tax breaks and both happen.

Sketch: This is every district's bill, $77.7 million a year across Nassau. Seven houses show the 2024 tax addition for the average house: Valley Stream 30 $1,873, Wantagh $803, Bethpage $723, Mineola $670, Rockville Centre $590, Hempstead $416, Uniondale $347. The county average is $125 per Nassau house; 34 school districts carry a portion of a developer's tax share. If it's a rounding error to them, why do they need it?
